The color of the panda

In the picture book "The Colour of the Panda" by Max Velthuijs Award winner Annemarie van Haeringen, everything changed on the day the panda became king. "From today on, everyone must look just like me," he commanded. "Why?" asked the animals. But they all put on black and white panda costumes, and the king wore their clothes, preferably as colourful and bright as possible. Until he tried on the mandrill outfit. And the nudibranch's suit: "So bare, you can see everything!" Ashamed, he crawled back into his own spots. And the animals breathed a sigh of relief; they could be themselves again.
