Bunny is looking for an egg

Little Hare can barely wait. Her Mama Hare has told her she's getting a little brother or sister. Little Hare fervently hopes for a brother, to play leapfrog with in the dunes. She already has enough sisters.

Little Hare goes in search of the egg from which the new little hare will emerge, because don't hares come from brightly colored eggs?
On her quest, she discovers all sorts of different eggs and the animals that hatch from them, from the oystercatcher to the grass snake, and from the crab that keeps her eggs under her shell to the cuckoo that lays its egg in another bird's nest.
