Heart of steel

Ravi is desperate. Concerts were already banned on the island, but now musical instruments are also forbidden! Music is supposedly dangerous for one's health. How can Ravi live without his guitar? His parents don't understand his panic at all, but there's something strange about them anyway. One night, Ravi discovered that they sleep with their eyes wide open and blue light shining from their ears…

Through a broadcast, he finds out he's not alone; Zina from his class has also noticed strange things about her father. In a secret spot in the forest, they meet Blinker and Mink, who tell them the shocking truth. Their parents aren't human, but robots!

A thrilling story by two-time Gouden Griffel winner Simon van der Geest, set in the near future. With illustrations by Martijn van der Linden.
